Itinerary

Day 2: Lagos - Badagry - Abeokuta
After breakfast, depart Lagos and travel west along the coastal road to Badagry, near the Benin Republic border. Founded in the 15th century on a lagoon of the Gulf of Guinea, Badagry became a key port in the transatlantic slave trade. You will take the Badagry Slave Route tour, visiting the old slave market, slave trade museum, Seriki Abbas compound (slave barracoons), and Gberefu Beach (slave embarkation point). Afterwards, proceed to Abeokuta.

Day 3: Abeokuta – Ibadan
After breakfast, visit Abeokuta, the largest city and capital of Ogun State, originally settled by the Egba Yoruba. Explore historic Olumo Rock and Itoku Market, known for Adire, the traditional indigo-dyed Yoruba fabric. You will also see fetish stalls selling traditional medicines. Lunch is served at Obasanjo Library Complex. After lunch, drive to Ibadan and check into your hotel. Dinner and evening are at your leisure.

Day 4: Ibadan – Ile-Ife – Oshogbo
After breakfast, depart for Oshogbo with a stop in Ile-Ife, regarded as the cradle of Yoruba civilization. Visit the Palace of the Ooni of Ife, the spiritual leader of Yorubaland, the Ife Museum, the statue of Queen Moremi Ajasoro, and the Oranmiyan monolith. Join local elders for a traditional drink and rituals honoring forefathers and recounting Ife lore.

Continue to Oshogbo, the capital of Osun State. Tour the town and the UNESCO-listed Osun Sacred Grove, a dense forest that serves as the shrine of the river goddess Osun.
