The sanctuary is jointly owned by the Edo State Government and The Nigerian Conservation Foundation. Home to hundreds of protected species the sanctuary's highlight is its vast array of rare primates including chimpanzees and white-throated monkeys. Other animal attractions include bush-babies, buffaloes, porcupines and red river hogs.
