The MUSON center stands is a music school, society & event center in Lagos, Nigeria. It came about to achieve the following objectives at a time when it was considered that music take a loud presence on the Nigerian scene.
Promote the understanding and enjoyment of classical.
Promote the education of children in the performance and theory of music
Promote interaction between Nigerian and Non-Nigerian musicians
Promote the performance of serious music with emphasis on classical music
Provide facilities for the realization of the above mentioned objectives.
Raise funds from persons and organizations for the realization of these objectives.
The School was set in place to achieve the above objectives. It teaches children & members in the use of various musical instrument. The school grants Diploma in Music. There is the basic section & the diploma section.
MUSON center also plays host to numerous events, awards, concerts & more on the local Nigerian entertainment scene.
